Are you fucking kidding me? Its either a gaping twat or a war hero, hmmmmmmmmm. Decisions decisions.

Which part of that speech doesn't make sense?

Pretty sure the only gaping twat in this thread is you.

Lol who am I kidding, IRAQ 100 MORE YEARS.

How does anything he said make him a pussy? Agree on all of his points.

While I don't necessarily agree with Obama on this point in particular, let's not forget that McCain is an outright fascist.

Neither of these choices are good. Anyone voting FOR either of these candidates, and not AGAINST the worse candidate has completely deluded themselves. It's not "good" vs "bad", it's "terrible" vs "awful."

The funny thing about all of these points about lowering spending, is that he's cutting one of the only three valid provices of government: military, while at the same time, he'll outright continue to increase costs in every other illegitimate province of government.

I wouldn't necessarily call the Iraq war valid spending.

Not in it's current form, no. But overall military spending, yes.

The problem with the Iraq war is that it's treated as a "Nation Building" exercise, like we have a moral responsibility to fix that broken theocratic nation.

We don't.

If it was deemed that Iraq was a threat, then not only did we have the right to invade, but indeed a moral responsibility. But in that case, we don't try to "fix" the nation, we destroy them, and leave.

War is fundamentally about one thing: destroying your enemy. We've deviated from that rather simple formula.

Obama's plan of replacing military spending with a committee is completely naive. Our enemies aren't concerned with reason or rationality and discussing our differences. They are concerned with what is proper in war: destruction of your enemy.

It's funny you mention this, because this was the choice last election and the war hero certainly wasn't elected.

That is a pretty funny observation. I hadn't thought of that.

I'm sure it will be retorted with some sort of remark about it being different because Kerry was a traitor. That was the popular attack on him 4 years ago. Some douchenozzles confuse blind obedience with patriotism and protest with treason.

This is the same thing every single election. No Presidential candidate can claim to not be corrupt. We have a terrible Government and live in a terrible world, pretty simple.

Same.

I probably would have voted for Ron Paul, even though he's pretty much a pacifist. He at least gave lip-service to freedom.

And I still hold that I would have voted for Hillary over Obama and McCain. Even though she, too, is evil incarnate.

I submit the following evidence as exhibit A, B, and C.

Yes, demilitarizing our country will do us a lot of good, considering our dollar is backed on..... nothing, the global market is already shitting on its worth in the world, and those Russians and Chinese sure are slowing down on their military spending and have absolutely no ambitions for war.....

Oh, and sure lets leave Iraq so that it can house some wonderful decades of tribal warfare, give a haven to Sunni-extremists, Syrian and Iranian insurgents, oh and you know what, fuck Kuwait too, lets just leave and let them massacre each other. I mean we left Germany right after we seized Berlin,..... wait no we're still fucking stationed there and the war ended 73 years ago. But hey, lets be a complete idealist prick and mock "LOL 100 MORE YEARS IN IRAQ", honestly, those brown people in those sandy places are sub human so who cares if they live in desolation for the next century, fuck em.

You know what, lets pull out of the Balkans so those lovely Serbs and Bosnians can get back to their Super-Happy-Fun-Time-Genocide. Cause hey, I'm not ever going to vacation there, and probably can't even make any valid points on the geopolitical happenings that go on that Shenaniganovich land so lets leave.

Speaking of leaving, kids are a real fucking pain in the ass, they're just 100% your responsibility so just dump their ass in a dumpster, its easier that way.

In closing, fucking realism its all complicated with that having to think and stuff, lets just become pacifists and socialize our country so that our society becomes an even more lazy and dependent on the government.

Nah he just looks too much like the Frankenstein monster for the public to vote for him. Plus more props for McCain staying in a POW camp almost 6 years even though he had a chance to leave his comrades behind because of his father's position in the Navy.

If you think McCain isn't going to try to socialize everything as well, you're deluding yourself. There's a reason McCain is considered a RINO...he pays lip service to capitalism while simultaneously promoting socialism just as badly as any so-called liberal. McCain also has the problem of wanting to limit free speech. He's a total fascist.

And your arguments about leaving our occupied countries hanging is completely irrelevant. We have no moral imperative to help those countries. Who the fuck cares about Kuwait? Every one of those muslim countries is a big retarded theocracy. Let them infight. When an environmentalist whacko and a religious kook get in a fight, do you try to stop them? No, you watch and laugh. It's not our job to help every country in the world, just as it's not our job to pay for everyone's welfare. People can take care of themselves.

Also, don't think that I'm some bleeding heart pacifist. As far as I'm concerned, Iraq should have been cut and dry: blow them up, get out. Done in two months (Iraq isn't powerful enough to justify nukes). Hussein was clearly trying to pick a fight, and threatening force is an initiation of force. If some turd keeps poking you with a stick, trying to get you to fight, you punch him in the face and walk away.

Being a dedicated soldier does not necessarily make him a good leader. It might make him a good fighter (30 years ago), but policy-wise, he's completely bankrupt, as is Obama.

The only thing I see McCain going for him is that he doesn't appear to be a rabid theocrat like most of the Republican party (Bush, Huckabee anyone?)

China will never go to war with the U.S. If you believe that in any form you lack basic comprehension of how global politics work now in days. China arming themselves is simply a response to (in their point of view) being surrounded by potential enemies. You do know, that even with in the United States by design were all 10-15 driving distance from an armory?

Do you not understand the difference between a global effort to rebuild a country as opposed to a few American companies rebuilding a country? This isn't the way things have ever worked, keep deluding yourself in to thinking that were in Iraq for moral reasons. Iraq was a lie and mistake since 2002.

I agree, why police the world? They all hate it when we do it anyway. In my opinion we should just sit back until 5 million people get murdered by a group of sly politicians in a country so the world can appreciate the sacrifice and effort that goes in to intervening.

I'm curious if anyone who is a MaCain fanboi has actually looked at his HEROICS IN THE TOTALLY JUSTIFIED WAR OF VIETNAM.

Its almost as lolable as Kerry's imo.

Can't blame the soldier for the war.

Children, whom you birthed by choice, and who are incapable of taking care of themselves, are completely different from a sovereign nation of people who are irrational by choice. You can't honestly be in favor of spending tax-payer dollars to help countries, while simultaneously opposing welfare for American citizens. The principle is the same. To support one, while opposing another demonstrates a lack of adherence to principle.

That sentence didn't mean what I wanted it to, figured I'd kill two birds with one stone...

OR 10,000 VIETNMESE WITH ONE NAPALM BOMB AMIRITE?
